Meet The Team

Working Together to Build Something That Lasts

This project brings together three committed groups—each with a specific role, a track record of delivery, and a shared belief:
Families of children with complex needs deserve better respite care.

Avista (formerly known as the Daughters of Charity Disability Support Services) is a person-centred, rights-based organisation that is dedicated to improving the lives of over 3,000 children and adults with disabilities. Avista provides services in Limerick, North Tipperary/Offaly and Dublin.

Avista’s mission is to work together with the people they support to live their best lives, through the delivery of quality services while promoting their roles as active citizens in an inclusive society.

Respect is a fundraising organisation with a history of supporting Avista through the delivery of capital projects.

They unite the generosity of donors and supporters to improve the service surroundings of Avista and the individuals they support.

Funds raised are held for the benefit of Avista for the construction of this much-needed facility.

The Lisnagry Association is a parents and friends support group, made up of families, advocates, and community members who are deeply invested in the well-being of those attending Avista’s services in Lisnagry, Limerick.

As a grassroots organisation, the Lisnagry Association amplifies the voices of families who rely on respite services, ensuring that the needs of children with disabilities remain a top priority. Their advocacy and fundraising efforts play a crucial role in making this new respite house a reality.

Local Support & Legacy

Avista (Formaly The Daughters of Charity) together with The Lisnagry Association has been at the heart of disability support in this region for decades. Bringing local insight, passion, and a proven history of making ambitious projects happen.

Over the years, this partnership has helped fund vital developments including:

  • A sensory garden and therapeutic swimming pool

  • A fully adapted holiday home in Kilkee

  • Millview Close: six residential bungalows in Annacotty

  • Renovated bathrooms and living spaces for residents

  • The St. Louise de Marillac Day Centre

  • Gym facilities for therapeutic use

  • The Garvey Enterprise Centre

  • San Josef and Sejare respite houses

  • Several community-based homes

Their legacy speaks for itself. Their commitment to this new respite home speaks for the families who still need help.
